Tell us about your career journey so far?

I’ve worked in the recruitment industry for over 20 years, specifically focusing on global Go-To-Market recruitment (Sales, Marketing, Product and Digital) across most sectors. I have consciously worked for boutique, SMB and Corporate sized recruitment businesses to understand best practice across all levels.

Currently, I am the Director of Scala Leadership. Scala Leadership are specialists in the Go-to-Market Sector – helping clients with market analysis, team build outs and senior leadership hiring.

Tell us about Scala Leadership

Scala Leadership has a unique proposition that assists our clients with all aspects of their go to market strategy. We are often asked during the recruitment process to emulate top performers and that makes sense. But often outside of behavioural attributes, it is difficult to home in on what makes a top performer a top performer.

We find out WHY your top performers are your top performers. We look to understand your teams’ capabilities and structure to see what is working and what isn’t.

This information allows us to source exceptional go-to-market teams and senior leaders, matched both technically and culturally to your individual business.

Advisory and Mapping Projects
Other big questions we are always asked is… how do we attract and retain top talent? What is the typical package that the market is currently paying and why, specifically within sales talent? What is the key motivator for candidates to move right now?

Scala Leadership has completed many mapping projects for FTSE/ Fortune 1000 businesses, as well as for Private Equity and Venture Capitalist backed startups, helping them understand the competitive landscape and how align their future strategy.

Team Build Outs
Recruiting sales talent is extremely difficult in the current market, so building sales teams becomes a very big headache and a struggle for a lot of our clients, but again Scala Leadership has extensive experience in building small to large global sales teams.

We have a dedicated project team, that has a sole purpose of identifying and building global teams in partnership with the client.

Candidates
In combination with all the other services, we are in a unique position to be able to help candidates within the Sales, Marketing, Product and Digital disciplines to strategise their next career move, as well as have a ready-made client pool to introduce candidates to. Candidates are at the heart of Scala Leadership, and helping to navigate the global market is a key component of what we do.

What gives you job satisfaction?

Genuinely working with a client that has a profound challenge and being able to work with them to solve it. Building long lasting relationships and being a true partner of choice. It’s why many of our clients and candidates come back and work with us again and again.

Also assisting candidates on their career journey, finding them their dream roles and watching them progress gives me a real buzz.

What do you do outside of work?
Friends and family are always the most important thing outside of work. I also like to be involved in most sports (knees permitting).
